                                            Upcoming Performances

                                            Picture
What: Cherry Creek High School Ethnic Fest When: Thursday, February 9, 2012, 5:45 pm to 6:30pm
Where: Cherry Creek High School - 9300 E Union Ave. Greenwood Village, CO
Details: We have a performance coming up next Thursday, February 9th, which is really fun!  It’s the Cherry Creek High School Ethnic Fest.  We’ve done this performance off & on for quite a few years in the past, but not the past few, probably because we didn’t have a student there.  However, we now have Hannah Gillette there, so have been invited to perform once again, from 5:45pm to 6:15pm.  Following our performance, the Celtic band, Sgean Dubh, has asked us to perform with them at the end of their show; their show runs from 6:00 to 6:30, & is right down the hall, so we’ll go straight there.  We will meet in the IC Building Cafeteria (that’s where we’re performing this year).  I’ve attached a map of the school & also a map to the school.  I’ve drawn a rather crude arrow path on the map in red to the entrance of the building & to the IC Cafeteria.  After the performance we are welcome to watch & participate in other ethnic activities that are going on in the school.  The event ends at 8:00, so it’s not too late for a school night.

What: Tartan Day Fundraiser Tea When: Sunday, February 19, 2012, 2:00pm to 3:30pm (dances interspersed with the rest of their program)
Where: TG Danzport - 8101 E. Belleview Ave. (in Marina Square), just east of 1-25 at Belleview & Ulster (on the north side of the strip mall (go around the back on the north side of Marina Square).  (It's directly behind where the Thistle & Shamrock used to be, in the Denver Tech Center.)

What: CoCal (Colorado Caledonian Pipe Band) show When: Sunday, March 4, 2012, 6:00pm - 40 minute show between Pipe Band sets
Where: Presbyterian Church of the Covenant - 5400 S. Yosemite St, Denver, CO

                                            What:Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When: Saturday, March 17, 2012, 8am (exact time tbd) to 11-am - ish
Where: starts at Coors Field Parking LotNote: Little ones or fairly new beginners are especially welcome to help carry the banners.  Kilted parents/siblings are also wanted to help during the parade.

Also, here are some other upcoming performances that we’ve been invited to do with the 79th Highlanders Pipe Band (thank you, Jan Holland for all the details!)

What: Colorado Springs St. Patrick’s Day Parade (a mind-blower, in my opinion)..
When: Saturday March 17, 2012 form-up at 11 a.m., march sometime after 12:00 noon, done by 1:30 p.m. (probably). Our spot last year was near the corner of MONUMENT and TEJON Streets in Colorado Springs.

What: Sedalia St.. Patrick's Day Parade  with the O’Brien’s Cafe event afterwards.
                                            When: Sun., March 18th
Parade forms up at 1:30 p.m., and steps off at 2:00 p.m.   The location is Platte Street, 3/8 of a mile north of Hwy 67.  The parade route is in the area of Sedalia between the two railroad lines.

What: Colorado Tartan Day Festival, in Old Town Arvada (McIlvoy Park), near 58th & Wadsworth By-pass.  When April 14th, 2012   9 a.m. -  3 p.m.

What: Calhan Parade (south and east of Elbert, on U.S. 24 between Colorado Springs and Limon) When Saturday May 5th, 2012 The form-up time is 10 a.m. and the step-off time is 11:00 a.m

Where: Meet at the corner of Colorado Avenue and 4th Street in Calhan, just one block north of Hwy. 24.  Colorado Ave. is Calhan’s “Main Street”.   Calhan is like a veterans parade, with just about everyone in town participating.

What: Elizabeth Stampede Parade (and the Elizabash Street Fair).
When: Sat., June 2nd Meet at 9 a.m. Parade step off at 10:00am
Where: South Tabor St. & County Road 136---this is a half mile south of Colo. Hwy. 86 on Tabor in Elizabeth...Tabor is halfway down the hill and is a right hand turn (if you’re coming from the West).
Details: I recommend that you park at Running Creek Elementary School (at the corner of Elbert St. and County Road 136).  The Parade steps off at 10:00 a.m. and is mostly downhill; it’s 8/10ths of a mile long.  It is point-to-point, meaning that the parade doesn’t quite loop back to the starting area...(it ends near Frontier High School at Walnut & Banner St.), so we should have some cars near the end to drive folks back up to Running Creek School.   At the end of the Parade, along Main Street, will be the Elizabash Street Fair.  Our tent last year was located across the street from the Carlson Building (and in front of Doug and Katie Lynn Sanders’ shop, the Garden Fairy Apothecary).  The Fair runs from 11:00 a.m. (or when the parade is done) until 3:00 p.m.

What:  The Parker Days Festival Parade (meet at 9 a.m. Sat., June 9th --  -- location not yet announced -- march at 10 a.m., done by 11 a.m.).  When the weather is good, this is a big parade.  Please come if you can.

What: Elbert County Relay for Life at Elizabeth High School
When: Friday, June 22nd 2012(evening)-  Join us at 9 p.m. (yes, at night)
                                            Where: Elizabeth High School
Details: for the Memory Walk (once around the track) with the pipe band playing Amazing Grace, and everything by candle light.  This is a great event, hosted by the American Cancer Society.
